"Wow, someone taking the time to post a comment simply to reiterate how "straight" they are. Me thinks thou dost protest too much..."
Only a gay guy would think that such a remark was made for such a stupid reason. But you're clever to insinuate that anyone who says anything that sounds even remotely gay-bashing is just covering up for actually being a gay himself. Are people who criticize rape and pedophilia are actually closet rapists and pedophiles, too? What about the guy who remarks, "I'd buy the new Chrysler," but that's a black man's Cadilac"? Is he a closet black guy who doesn't want anyone to know he's black? You must be really insecure to be so easily troubled by someone announcing their straight status. Why do you suppose a gay parade should be considered cool, while a straight guy individually announcing his orientation should be considered wrong? Maybe it's those who participate in gay parades are protesting too much.
I have no interest in politicalizing sex. If you're gay, that's your business. If you're straight, that's your business, too. No one should feel threatened by his fellow man because of his sexual orientation. All of us should have the freedom to brag about what we are, if we really feel it's worth bragging about, and gays don't have a corner on that market.
