The faucet I treid out (from Hansa) set the color based on the temperature you set not the actual water temperature. Part of the reasoning is that you set the temperature you want by color. Showing just the temperature would encourage one to set the temperature too high and then when the water temperature reached that setting, it's much too hot. You might notice a color change but you still need to fuss with the temprature adjustment again.
